Find us in the hills.

Galaha Estate sits in the central highlands, about 45 minutes from Kandy. We arrange transfers from Kandy, from Peradeniya station and, for Pekoe Trail guests, from every stage start and end.

  1. By train

    Arrive at Peradeniya or Kandy station and we’ll send a private car (about 45 minutes). WhatsApp us from the platform and we’ll be there.

  2. From Colombo airport

    Bandaranaike International to the estate is about 3.5 to 4 hours by private car. We can arrange the transfer.

  3. From Kandy

    About 45 minutes from the city centre by car or tuk-tuk along the Galaha road.

  4. From the Pekoe Trail

    Stage 1 ends at Galaha Post Office, five minutes away by car. We collect every Pekoe Trail guest at the trail end.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and specific allergies are all catered for with notice. Mention them when you write and the kitchen will plan around them.

I’m a travel agent or tour operator. Who should I contact?

Email stay@theteabungalow.com and mention that you’re enquiring for trade. We have a trade rate sheet and commission structure for tour operators and DMCs, and are happy to send detailed property information.

Is there parking at the estate?

Yes: secure parking under the car porch and in the grounds. Pekoe Trail walkers are welcome to leave a car at the estate while they walk.
